Blain's Farm and Fleet Closed on Thanksgiving

Nov 16, 2015

Janesville, Wis. November 13th, 2015 – Blain’s Farm and Fleet stores will remain closed on Thanksgiving Day to allow their associates to enjoy the holiday with family and friends.

Blain’s Farm and Fleet is a second generation, family owned company, founded by brothers Claude and Bert Blain in 1955. Bert’s daughter, Jane Blain Gilbertson, now CEO and sole owner is proud of the traditions her father and uncle created and feels it is important to keep them in place.

“Our company wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for strong family values and traditions,” says Blain Gilbertson. “So it goes without thinking to close our doors on holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. I cherish these special days with my family and friends and I want to give that same opportunity to the 4,000 associates who work hard year round for our company.”

“As our competitors may open earlier and earlier on Thanksgiving Day, we hope our customers will understand we want to treat these special holidays differently and honor our past, our traditions, our associates and our customers. We truly have a lot to be thankful for.”

Blain’s Farm and Fleet will open their doors on Black Friday, November 27th, at 6:00a.m. with early bird specials and sales.

“We want our customers to relax and enjoy the day with food, family, friends, and of course a great football game. We know our associates will be well fed, well rested and ready to serve our communities with some amazing sales and a fun shopping experience on Black Friday.”

Founded in 1955, Blain’s Farm & Fleet stores are specialty discount retailers with 36 locations throughout Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin. The company remains steadfast in its commitment to offering customers high quality products, competitive prices and reliable service. Visit www.farmandfleet.com.
